Matt & Adriana knew what they wanted for their wedding and their wedding photography. They had booked the Old Town Hall in Fairfax, VA for their wedding ceremony & reception, a unique location with beautiful, leaded glass windows. And in Matt's words, they weren't doing a super-traditional wedding.
"We're focusing on fun and eliminating a lot of hoop-la. What's important to us is that we get interesting and pretty wedding pictures, and not have a big shot list of portraits. We really like artsy wedding shots - high contrast, color pops, blurred motion, silhouettes, dramatic lighting... We saw that you had some really cool wedding pictures where you dragged the shutter," Matt said.
In keeping with the non-traditional theme, Adriana chose a beautiful coral wedding gown instead of traditional white, giving us that pop of color in every image she was in! Old Town Hall was the perfect venue for this Fairfax wedding couple.
After the wedding, we custom-designed a 12x12 wedding photography album for them, together with two parent albums for both sets of parents. Visit us later for a separate blog post with pictures of the wedding albums!
Many thanks to Matt & Adriana for the amazing 5-star review of our Fairfax wedding photography services on WeddingWire. We loved working with you too. It was an honor to be given the opportunity to capture these priceless memories of your special day!
Susan Ellis has been an Olney realtor since 1994. When her son joined the practice some years ago, they had had an indoor-outdoor personal branding photography session, and it was great. But times change, and now Susan was working on transitioning her buyer's agent, Tracy, into more of a leadership position. It was time for Susan to update her own realtor headshots as well as get new headshots for Tracy.
Susan was also considering a team portrait of her and Tracy together, but was hesitant to move forward because she felt that she'd never seen a portrait of two women together that didn't seem awkward. That surprised me, and so I put together an inspiration board for her. She liked what she saw, and so we met up at the Sandy Spring Museum in Olney, MD for their realtor headshot & team portrait session!
Of course, their headshots & team portrait are fabulous! Check out some of the final results here, and many thanks to Tracy for the 5-star google review! We loved working with you too, Susan & Tracy!
Is your headshot too old? Is your headshot unflattering? Is the lighting in your headshot bad? Is your headshot unprofessional-looking? Don't have a headshot at all? These are all reasons for you to run (not walk) to your headshot session today!
Remember the Solis's family photography session at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA? Well, the Solis's chose their favorite 3-generational family portrait for us to print at 20x40 inches with a custom espresso frame. It's beautiful as the central point of their room! Together with their 11x14, 8x10, and 5x7 art prints, this family portrait collection is one they'll enjoy FOREVER.

There aren't words to express how much we've enjoyed watching Mr. Silver-Haired Cutie grow. This was our fifth time photographing him and his mom & dad since his Germantown newborn photography session 3 years ago! Mr. Silver-Haired Cutie began with one of our baby photography plans, then continued on to our Watch Me Blossom annual family photography plan. I already can't wait - next year will be his third Watch Me Blossom session!
Since last year, Mr. Silver-Haired Cutie moved to a BEAUTIFUL new home in Ijamsville, MD with a ton of space for both him and his dog sibling, Eden, to run around and explore. It made such an AMAZING location for their fall family photos this year! I wouldn't mind doing next year's fall family photos at their Ijamsville home as well!
It was hard to choose, but here are some of my favorites of their Ijamsville, MD fall family photos. They just picked up their printed artwork... check back later for a photo of their 30x40 canvas wall portrait!

We had met Alysoun two years earlier when she needed equine photography (and dog photography) at her beautiful rescue ranch in Thurmont, Maryland. We had so enjoyed working with Alysoun the last time around, so I was so very delighted to receive this e-mail from her:
"I have recently begun working with a matchmaking service, and they recommended that I get some high quality [dating] photos of myself. Of course, I immediately thought of you for this task!"
And so we headed back to her Thurmont, Maryland ranch to photograph Alysoun, both individually and with her equine and dog companions. She had adopted a new dog since we'd seen her two years earlier! Here are some of our favorites from her outdoor dating photography session. Keep scrolling down to catch a glimpse of the printed artwork that we also made for her!
Two years ago, Alysoun's primary photography session goal was to get a series of canvas wall art to decorate her ranch house. This time, her primary goal was to get a series of dating photos to be placed online. But regardless, wasn't it a great opportunity to get some wall art with her new dog and two dogs together? Check out the finished canvas wall portraits that we made for her!
And Alysoun, please accept a big THANK YOU for the amazing online review of our dating photography services!
