S's original plan for their pet photography & family photography session at Manassas National Battlefield Park in Northern Virginia was to get hi-resolution digital files of the photographs, but M convinced him that it would be better to invest in printed artwork that they could immediately hang to decorate their home.
"Think of our wedding photography!" M said to S at their 'photo reveal'! "We haven't done anything with it, and I don't want any more digital files [that will waste away on a hard drive] right now!"
And so, M & S chose their four favorite images from their Northern Virginia family photography & pet photography session for us to print and arrange as a 4-piece love grouping. The largest image is a 20x30" thick canvas gallery wrap, and the other 3 images are 12x12" prints on metal. Gorgeous!!!

Steve and I knew each other from our Gaithersburg, MD gym where we played racquetball several times a week. I'd heard so much over the months about Steve's girlfriend, Liz, so I was so delighted when Steve broached the subject of a couple's portrait photography session for the two of them.
"I take a ton of picture of us, but they're just selfies. I've thought about doing a professional portrait photography session for a while, and Liz has agreed to it!" Steve told me.
Upon further discussion, we planned a petite (30-minute) couple's portrait photography session for the two of them at our Maryland photography studio. My absolute favorites are the ones with the chandelier, because they're artistic and different.
It's funny, but sometimes when I start incorporating the chandelier in the morning room of our DC photography studio into the photographs, my clients think I'm making a mistake. "The chandelier's in the way!" they helpfully warn me, not realizing that I'm including it on purpose. Because that's what art is... the expression of imagination...
Many thanks to Steve for writing an awesome review of our Gaithersburg portrait photography services! Enjoy some of my favorites from their petite couple's portrait session below!
Sure, there are many gorgeous locations for couple's portraits and engagement photography in the Washington DC area, but what better way to personalize your photographs than with a location that has special meaning to you, like where one of you grew up?
Bob's family farm in Westminster, MD proved to be an amazing location for Bob & Bailey's engagement photography session. The photogenic red barn, peaceful pond, and even the field of cut, dried up corn stalks made for beautiful backdrops!
And in the photographs below, Connor's family home in Arlington, VA gave us plenty of material to work with for Connor & Veronica's engagement photography session, including the curved staircase, kitchen, and manicured front yard.
M and S came to us through Lucky Dog Animal Rescue in Arlington, VA, where M has been on the board for the past few years and volunteering with Lucky Dog for even more years. Their last experience with a professional photographer was for their engagement photography session and wedding photography. Of course, Nemi (short for Nemesis), had not yet joined their family then, so they didn't yet have any professional pet photography or family photography with their baby girl.
S was enthralled with the portraits from other couple's and family photography sessions that we had done at Manassas National Battlefield Park in Northern Virginia, and so we headed there for their pet photography/family photography session. Here are some of the results of our labor.
Nemi charmed the socks off our pet photographer... how much more adorable can a fur baby get?! Check back later for photographs of their finished canvas wall portrait and metal prints, which are currently under production!
Love your fur baby(ies) to the moon and back?
Memories are fleeting.
Capture them with professional pet photography and remember forever.
We had photographed Jasper, Kiki, and their three kids late last year during a goofy family photography & little artist chalkboard session at our Maryland photography studio. This time, Jasper came back to me and said:
"We've been married for more than a decade, but we didn't have a 'real wedding,' and Kiki had said that one day she wants wedding photography. I'd like to do a '(wedding) dress and tux' portrait session as a gift to her for our wedding anniversary this year."
Of course, I was absolutely delighted that Jasper would come back to us for these special memories that they and their children and eventually grandchildren and great-grandchildren will treasure forever.
Because these wedding portraits would be so special, Jasper decided to extend the standard 1-hour portrait photography session into 2 hours. And so one evening, we met up at Old Town Alexandria in Virginia, and spent a few hours meandering the streets and waterfront. At their "photo reveal" and ordering appointment several weeks later, Jasper and Kiki chose a canvas wall portrait of their favorite image along with 34 other portraits for a custom-designed wedding photography album. Check back soon for photos of their finished album and wall portrait!
Married but still haven't gotten the wedding portraits you always dreamed of?
It's not too late to create these memories.
