We had photographed Jasper, Kiki, and their three kids late last year during a goofy family photography & little artist chalkboard session at our Maryland photography studio. This time, Jasper came back to me and said:
"We've been married for more than a decade, but we didn't have a 'real wedding,' and Kiki had said that one day she wants wedding photography. I'd like to do a '(wedding) dress and tux' portrait session as a gift to her for our wedding anniversary this year."
Of course, I was absolutely delighted that Jasper would come back to us for these special memories that they and their children and eventually grandchildren and great-grandchildren will treasure forever.
Because these wedding portraits would be so special, Jasper decided to extend the standard 1-hour portrait photography session into 2 hours. And so one evening, we met up at Old Town Alexandria in Virginia, and spent a few hours meandering the streets and waterfront. At their "photo reveal" and ordering appointment several weeks later, Jasper and Kiki chose a canvas wall portrait of their favorite image along with 34 other portraits for a custom-designed wedding photography album. Check back soon for photos of their finished album and wall portrait!
Married but still haven't gotten the wedding portraits you always dreamed of?
It's not too late to create these memories.
Anita had told me all about Rick at her boudoir photography session the previous year. She was so clearly in love, bubbly and excited and extra happy telling me about him. And so I got bubbly and excited myself when she reached out to tell me that Rick was going to be coming up from Florida to visit her and that the two of them wanted to do a couple's portrait photography session at our Maryland portrait photography studio, and that I was going to get to meet Rick!
Rick is a 20-year Navy veteran and had never been professionally photographed before, so this was a first for him. And when I met him, he was so very sweet and nice, and he and Anita just really... well... matched. After Anita received her first couple's portrait, she showed it to Rick, and reported back to tell me that he not only loved it, but said that it's the only (first) photograph he has of himself that he doesn't feel self-conscious about, and that it was all because of me, their professional photographer! Well that certainly made my day. It's such an incredible feeling to make people feel good... no GREAT! about themselves!
Anyway, here are some of my favorites from their sweet and bubbly couple's portrait photography session. Enjoy!
Fulfill your dreams of beautiful couple's portraits or engagement photography that remind you of your sweet & bubbly love every time you look at them.
It was their 10-year wedding anniversary, and Deborah & John wanted a beautiful album of recent portraits of them together to rival their wedding album from 10 years earlier. We had headed to the Eastern Shore to the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michael's, MD, which is where they had spent the night after their wedding, for their portrait photography session.
Then, for something unique and truly different, they selected their favorite image from their anniversary portrait photography session for us to print on metal at a stunning 24x30 size. Simply gorgeous!!!
Enjoy photos of some of my favorite spreads from their album and a photo of their metal wall portrait. Their 12x12 size album has a red leather cover and beautiful premium lustre inside paper! You can also view more images from their wedding anniversary photography session here.

Check out K and D's finished wall portraits from their post-wedding bridal portraits/wedding portraits session! The first wall portrait is a 24x36 size canvas gallery wrap for K and D (above), and the second is a 30x40 custom-framed art print to hang in the entryway of K's parents' lakehouse home (below). Beautiful, are they not?

"Our 10 year wedding anniversary is this summer. I am wondering if we could retain you to do an anniversary portrait photography session of the two of us... We were married in Baltimore and it would be fun to re-shoot there. I shared the portrait album from our wedding with you but i'm not sure if you remember it -- we wouldn't want to duplicate it -- after checking out the "couples" section on your website we both believe you would have really special ideas to offer -- but we would probably want to do something like it in Baltimore if that worked for you."
I had met Deborah just 9 months earlier when I created a very special photo album of her to give to her husband as a birthday gift. So I was so very excited that I would finally get to meet John in person after hearing so much about him! Just 1.5 weeks later, they rang the doorbell to our Maryland photography studio, and we sat down to brainstorm and plan their anniversary portrait photography session. "We want photos in which we're genuinely having fun," they said. And while the original idea was to head to Baltimore for their portrait photography session, another idea came to mind.
When they had gotten married 10 years earlier, they had eloped and were married by a Justice of the Peace. That evening, they then spent the night at the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, MD, and so ever since then, they often headed to the Inn at Perry Cabin to celebrate their wedding anniversaries. St. Michaels also gave us another unique photography option... a sunset sail on a sailboat!
And so, the planning began and the excitement built. We agreed on a 2-hr indoor-outdoor-off-the-water-on-the-water portrait photography session ending at sunset. The folks at the Inn at Perry Cabin were so kind as to allow us to photograph anywhere we wanted both inside the inn and on its grounds, as well as on the Inn's sailboat. On the day of our portrait photography session, Captain Mark did a fantastic job manuevering the sailboat so that we had picture perfect sunset backgrounds!
At their "photo reveal" and ordering appointment, Deborah and John chose their favorite couple's portrait for us to print on metal as a 24x30 inch display to grace the walls of their Washington DC home, along with more favorites to go in a custom-designed photo album that is in production as I write this. Check back soon for a glimpse of their finished wall portrait and photo album!
