"I have an organic family of five, plus my mother and son’s girlfriend. My kids will be visiting this summer, and it has been years since we've taken family portraits. We'd like a family photography session that would produce (fingers crossed) a large group portrait, organic family portraits, kids only portraits, and couple's portraits for my wife and I and my son and his girlfriend," Mike wrote in his initial e-mail.
Later on the phone with him and his wife, Patty, I asked 'Out of the hundreds of DC family photographers in our area, why did you choose to call us?' And they said:
"Your outdoor family photography gallery looks fantastic. We want something 'above' choosing between backdrops in a photography studio, and we need a family photographer who will direct us and come up with ideas, because our weakness is lack of creativity!"
And so, we planned their outdoor family photography session at Northern Virginia's George Mason University near their home in Fairfax. What a fun group! Enjoy some of my favorites from their session below!
Has it been years since you've had family portraits created?
While we can't bring those years back for you, our award-winning family photographer can help you preserve priceless memories here and now.
This 6-piece canvas gallery wrap love grouping that we made for Mr. Silver-Hair Cutie & mom & dad from their 2018 Maryland fall family pictures session is OH so adorable! The largest family portrait - my favorite with the amazing sunset and so very cute with the bright red delicious apples - is printed at a 24x30 size, which gives you some perspective of the size of the overall grouping. What is YOUR favorite part of these family photography wall portraits?
Dreaming of a family photography love grouping of your own?
Every season of the year is a beautiful time for family photography in Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia!
And many, many thanks to this family for writing this awesome google review of our family photography services. We can't wait to see how much Mr. Silver-Hair Cutie has grown later this year!
Check out the Rogers family's finished wall portrait love groupings from their Bethesda family photography session at Cabin John Regional Park in Maryland! They chose a total of 12 images for us to print on canvas for their two wall portrait love groupings, and they're the perfect fit for the spaces in their home that we designed them for. Looks amazing, and they will be enjoying these for decades to come... a family photography legacy to be passed on for generations!
And many thanks to Stacy for writing this awesome recommendation of our outdoor family photography services on NextDoor!
"We're a family of five... we have 13-year old and 2-year old sons and an 11-year old daughter. We want to start with a family photography session. We're a goofy family and we don't want any poses that are too serious! After the family photography session, we'll also want either a boudoir photography or bridal photography session, as we've never had either. Your boudoir photography is phenomenal!" Jasper said on our initial phone call and later at their family photography planning and design meeting.
As we brainstormed and talked through ideas at their planning & design meeting, Kiki said they didn't want to use any overly "fancy" furniture, as that just wouldn't be them. And so we planned their indoor family photography session at our Maryland photography studio around our hardwood staircase, a cream backdrop with light wood flooring, and most fun of all, a Little Artist Chalkboard drawing theme on a grey backdrop for the entire family (my favorite!).
Check out some of my favorite images from their fun and goofy indoor family photography session. Check back later for photos of their finished holiday cards and canvas wall portrait grouping! And, their outdoor bridal photography session in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia is just about scheduled, and we'll be sure to post a peek into that session as well!
Does goofy & fun family photography appeal to you?
"We want plenty of close-ups of our baby and a mix of documentary photography and posed baby photography," Shoshana's parents told me as their shared their vision at their family photography planning & design meeting. "We'd love to hang some framed collages of multiple images on the long, exposed brick wall that we have in our house."
And so we did exactly that at Shoshana's baby photography session a month later at our Maryland photography studio. What a happy cutie this 9-month girl is! Enjoy some of my favorite images from their family photography session!
It's a snowstorm out there!
Come in from the cold of winter with studio baby photography & family photography!
