What a relief when little Elizabeth emerged from the NICU (newborn intensive care unit) into her parents’ welcoming arms, strong emotions of love and joy surrounding her. Her little raspy breaths a comforting sound; 10 fingers, 10 toes; a tiny, absolutely perfect, being. At about 4 weeks old for her newborn photography session at home in Silver Spring, Maryland, little Elizabeth still had that newborn curl and just a little bit of a sleepy demeanor…at least until she opened her mouth wide and shrieked sounds of demanding hunger! As I think back to photographing this beautiful family, I remember the wonder in her dad’s eyes as he held her up close and gazed upon her innocent face… I remember the caring embrace of her mom. Elizabeth, always remember that you are perfect. You are your parents’ joy, their reason for being. Congratulations to this happy family!
