I know I shocked Mrs. N when I asked Charity and Annah to lie down on the hardwood floor of our Germantown-Clarksburg photography studio for a portrait of the two sisters.  While she had been photographed by family photographers back home in Kenya, she’d never worked with any family photographers like us before.  She couldn’t imagine at the time that a portrait of her two daughters lying on the floor could ever come out well.  And when Charity and Annah didn’t say anything to her about our photography session over the next month, she even thought it must be because none of the photographs came out well.  (I thought that was pretty funny when Charity and Annah told me the story.  In reality, Charity had been traveling and Annah was taking a weekend class, so they weren’t able to come back for their “photo reveal” until 5 or 6 weeks later.)  So imagine Mrs. N’s surprise to find that one of the best portraits of the session was one of the two girls on the floor!  In fact, with our interior design assistance, Charity and Annah selected five of their favorite family photos to hang above the sofa in their apartment, which they had us print and mount as standouts.  The largest piece of artwork is a 20×30″ standout of that image!  It sure does look awesome, right?!
