Mike told me that he chose to reach out to us because we're located near him in Cockeysville, MD, and because we advertise online dating photos, and there aren't many online dating photographers. A few years ago, a friend of his created some online dating photos for him, but he wasn't terribly enthusiastic about the photographs, and most importantly, they didn't get him the online dating results he was hoping for.

"My friend's a pretty good weekend photographer," he said, "but he's used to doing wedding & event photography and photographing models, rather than online dating photos."

When we talked about the type of look he wanted for his online dating photos, Mike said:

What's important to me is that I don't want it to be obvious that I was in a photography studio in front of a screen. I want it to look more candid... like a friend happened to come by."

And so I suggested environmental online dating photos to Mike for that more natural and casual look. He preferred an urban environment, and so we headed to Rockville Town Center in Maryland, with it's interesting colors and textures. Mike plays a few instruments, and so he brought his guitar along as a prop.
