Una originally contacted me because she needed a professional headshot for her NIH online profile page. 

"I contacted you because of the quality of the headshots on your website, your blog, your testimonials, plus, I'm in Gaithersburg and you're close by, AND, you were the first photographer to respond to my inquiry, which makes a great impression and was my deciding factor!" she told me.

"I don't like my current headshot, and I have a higher position now in management, so my profile on the NIH website is going to have a lot more visibility than before.  Anytime people google my division, they'll see me, and I want a headshot that looks more professional."

"Last time I was photographed professionally, it was done in a dark, dull conference room, I got 1 image, I didn't get to give any feedback, the session lasted for literally 20 seconds, there was no lighting, and the photographer didn't give me any direction!  I typically have speaking engagements once or twice a year.  Sometimes the organizers ask me to send a headshot, and I've had to reluctantly send that one."

Una continued on, telling me that she doesn't like being photographed and doesn't like the way she looks. Music to my Gaithersburg headshot photographer ears!  I LOVE working with people like Una, because invariably, they LOVE the headshots I create for them, and the entire experience transforms their perspective and self-confidence for the better.  Can I say that I'm both a professional headshot photographer and therapist rolled into one?
