As a true basketball fan, Robert took this quote to heart and decided to give professional online dating profile photos a try. He'd has some luck with his own online dating portraits but he knew that in order to get the results he wanted, he'd have to put his best foot forward, and that's exactly what he did.

When he initially reached out, Robert didn't have a super clear idea of what he wanted his online dating profile photos to look like, so we discussed some of his hobbies and passions. He mentioned he liked being outdoors and liked the idea of being photographed in Old Town Alexandria, VA, where there are some beautiful buildings. Some of his hobbies also included basketball, biking and frisbee.

This actually brings up a very interesting point. When planning for the best online dating profile photos, we recommend that you incorporate your hobbies. Who are you? What do you enjoy doing, and what is important in your life? This can be a great way to attract people with similar interests and give you a place to start a conversation. 

Stand Out

Another tip to keep in mind with your dating photos is to remember to stand out. Just to be clear, I am not talking about posing with tigers - I think we've all seen way too much of that!  Rather, I'm referring to simple but effective tips that will make a world of a difference. 

• Don't Use Filters

Your online dating profile photos are not the place for filters. This may signal that you have something to hide and can actually drive people away instead of attracting them.

• Do mix it up with forward facing and candid photos.

Facing the camera can make you look confident and people tend to response very well when they can see your eyes, whereas candid dating portraits can show off your fun side. 

The Results
