Steve and I knew each other from our Gaithersburg, MD gym where we played racquetball several times a week. I'd heard so much over the months about Steve's girlfriend, Liz, so I was so delighted when Steve broached the subject of a couple's portrait photography session for the two of them.

"I take a ton of picture of us, but they're just selfies. I've thought about doing a professional portrait photography session for a while, and Liz has agreed to it!" Steve told me.

Upon further discussion, we planned a petite (30-minute) couple's portrait photography session for the two of them at our Maryland photography studio. My absolute favorites are the ones with the chandelier, because they're artistic and different.

It's funny, but sometimes when I start incorporating the chandelier in the morning room of our DC photography studio into the photographs, my clients think I'm making a mistake. "The chandelier's in the way!" they helpfully warn me, not realizing that I'm including it on purpose. Because that's what art is... the expression of imagination...
