"This will be our first professional family photography session since our wedding," Valerie and Robert said at our planning & design meeting. "We're a blended family with two children, ages 14 and 30." One of Robert's biggest complaint about the typical photographs of himself was that he looks too dark, so lighting was extra important to him. And as a professional family photographer, I must agree that light makes or breaks a photograph!

"I don't want to go anywhere for this family photography session. I want to do it at our home... indoors and outdoors... We even have an art gallery in our home," he continued. And so we planned their fall family pictures for their home in McLean, Virginia. Robert was right... it was a beautiful location for a family photography session!
