Celebrating Elaine. A Glimpse into the 50 Over 50 and Fabulous Photography Project

Elaine and her daughter, Kimether, have a very special bond, and Kimether’s gift to her mom of a coveted spot in our “50 Over 50 & Fabulous” photography project is a testament to the love they share. When I met Elaine in person, I could see her vibrant spirit and love for life, and it became my goal to celebrate and honor it.

Elaine’s 50 Over 50 & Fabulous portrait session was an inspiring blend of elegance and style, reflecting her keen sense of style. Clearly a fashionista, Elaine brought her own unique flair to the shoot, resulting in a set of stunning images. Her poise and confidence shined bright, making her look like a model in every portrait!

One of the most enchanting parts of Elaine’s session was when my assistant and I draped fabric around Elaine to create a free-flowing gown. The fabric billowed and swirled around her, creating a sense of motion and freedom. The resulting photographs capture Elaine in a way that is both timeless and unique.

Elaine’s career as a nurse speaks volumes about her strength, compassion, and dedication. These qualities are beautifully mirrored in her photographs. Each image is not just a portrait but a story of resilience and grace. Through this session, we aimed to honor Elaine’s contributions and celebrate her as a remarkable woman over 50.

Being photographed is more than just… well… being photographed. No matter how beautiful we are, we often don’t see our own beauty. Stepping in front of the camera is a truly empowering experience that builds self-confidence. For Elaine, at age 59, it was also a celebration of her journey and individuality. The process of posing, expressing herself, and seeing the beautiful results boost self-esteem and reinforce self-worth. This empowerment is my mission with the "50 Over 50 & Fabulous" project… reminding every woman that they are powerful and beautiful at any age.

Elaine’s 50 Over 50 & Fabulous photography session was a beautiful journey of discovery, creativity, and celebration. Her willingness to step out of her comfort zone to be photographed made for a truly memorable and unique experience. The resulting images are a powerful reminder that every woman 50+ has a story worth celebrating.
