Gaby at 15 years old at their family photography session in Fairfax, VA:
And so, this past spring, amidst the craziness of COVID, Gaby and her parents were talking about how Gaby wasn't going to have a normal senior year, and how they could bring some normalcy back... which led to senior portraits! And so when Gaby's dad reached out to begin the conversation, I was so excited at the prospect of photographing Gaby again!
"We don't want her to have senior portraits that she's going to be embarrassed about years from now," they said. "We just want to capture her just as she is at this moment in time."
They told me about her hobbies and interests, one of which is photography, and the story that sticks in my mind is about how she bought a lobster, told her mom that she had gotten a new pet, and took pictures of the lobster at the park, sitting on a swing eating breakfast. How funny is that?
Gaby likes the outdoors, and so she picked the beautiful Sugarloaf Mountain in Dickerson, MD as the backdrop for her summer senior portraits. Accompanying her was her dog, a Boston Terrier named Tommy. What a cutie! Check out some of our favorites from her senior portrait photography session. It's only been two years since I last photographed her, but look how grown-up she's become. Honestly, she looks like a model in these senior portraits!
Here's to Gaby, Class of 2021! The world is your lobster, Gaby!
