It had been a little over three years ago that we had photographed Kain's wife, son, and mother-in-law.  Back then, that Silver Spring family photography session at Brookside Gardens had been an oh-so-very-thoughtful Mother's Day gift to the two women in his life.  Now, three years later, they were expecting another child, and Kain really wanted to capture this special time with maternity photography. 

This time, it was fall, and we headed over to Manassas National Battlefield Park.  It was so great to see the whole family again.  Little Carter looked just like he had three years ago, just a lot bigger, and Brandee definitely had that maternity glow! The play-fighting at the end was so much fun, and I loved that even Brandee, despite being pregnant, completely got into it!
