A Yearly Chronicle of Family Pictures for the Terhune Family

As a professional family photographer, there's an unparalleled joy in witnessing families grow and evolve through the lens of my camera. Each year brings new milestones, experiences, and memories, and I am privileged to be entrusted with the task of encapsulating these moments into timeless family pictures.

Today, I want to share with you the heartfelt connection I have with one very special family – the Terhune family - whom I have photographed five times for family pictures and senior portraits for their two oldest children since I met them four years ago (collage below).

Last year’s family photography session, featured in this blog post, marks the second to the last session for their years in the Washington DC metro area. I’ll be photographing them again in a few months, and the thought that this will be their last spring here before they move to Texas is bittersweet. Since our first session four years ago, I’ve become friends with Mom, and their oldest, Bella, has even come over to walk one of my cats!

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a professional family photographer is building lasting relationships… even becoming friends… with the families I work with.
