I was reading the book, Captivate, by Vanessa Van Edwards, and I had to save this quote to share with you:

"When you try to be the same as everyone else, it's boring. When you try to fit into a mold, you become forgettable. When you try to be "normal," you become dull. Just be yourself, because no one is like you. If you're a little weird, own it. The right people will like you for it." 

 And it made me think of the progression that some of our clients have gone through.  It reminded me in particular of a beautiful young realtor.  The first time I photographed her for her business headshots, she chose the "safe" images, the ones that were "normal."  I encouraged her to go out of the box, but she wasn't ready yet.  The second time I photographed her - it was five years later - she chose the headshots that were different, and she said, "Remember how last time, I chose the normal photos?"

It's human nature to want to fit in.  Yet, in business, in acting/modeling, in dating, it's simply better to be unforgettable.
