There’s something extraordinary about newborn photography. Such new life is amazing, remarkable, and breathtakingly precious, and every time that I create a collection of newborn photography, I marvel and revel at the tiny fingers and toes and the peaceful breathing of newborn slumber. Little Ilia was already more than 3 weeks new when her mom and I first spoke, and so I headed to their Washington DC home just a few days later for Ilia’s very first portrait session with a professional photographer. Although she didn’t want to sleep at the beginning, soon enough, her eyes began to drift closed, and I was able to create this sweet collection of newborn photography. My biggest reward, though, was during the “photo reveal” when the images were “unveiled” to Ilia’s mom and dad, and Ilia’s mom, in the middle of the slideshow, said, “These are perfect… they’re exactly what we wanted…” Enjoy!
