You might already know that In August/September 2020, I began a project called the "50 Over 50 & Fabulous" Project.

Throughout time, society has placed women in a box. They tell us what we have to look like, sound like, and even how we should age! I don't know about you, but we feel cramped in this box, and we're breaking free!

One of the goals of our "50 Over 50 & Fabulous" Project is to disrupt society and its expectations of what being 50+ really means. Women 50+ are STRONG, FIERCE, BEAUTIFUL forces of nature, and it's time we celebrate that!

With the "50 over 50 & Fabulous" Project, we want to remind women that it's their unique beauty, fearlessness, and authenticity that make them so alluring and captivating. Each woman has her own inspiring journey, and it is an honor to even be a small part of that.

Each round of the project culminates in an art exhibit & celebration featuring one portrait of each woman. The exhibit & gala for the Inaugural Round will take place on July 17, 2022 AND YOU AND YOUR FAMILY & FRIENDS ARE INVITED! This event will be something that most of our 50 featured women will never experience in their entire lives, so we are pulling out all the stops!

The Venue:

I am truly excited about having found a beautiful venue in the Blackwall Barn & Lodge for our Inaugural Gala. The first time I visited this venue, I remember feeling so small as I walked towards the beautiful barndoors. I was instantly taken aback by the elegance and grandeur of the eye-catching chandeliers that mixed with natural light to reflect throughout the entire space, and I felt like I had been transported in time. The Blackwall Barn & Lodge brings forth sophistication from the smallest details that will be sure to leave a lasting impact and transform this evening into one you won’t forget.

The Exhibit:

For this exhibit, I have chosen one portrait to showcase for each featured woman. This was a difficult choice! The women look breathtaking in all of their portraits, but I am so excited for you to see the selected portraits! Each portrait was hand-chosen to highlight each woman's individual personality and joie de vivre and will be displayed throughout the venue space for all to admire.

Tickets:

Your ticket will include access to our open bar, delicious hors d'oeuvres at our cocktail hour, and a full (and delectable) dinner.

We go to the tasting in a few weeks, but as I've eaten there already, I know that the dishes at the Blackwall Barn & Lodge are absolutely delicious!

Here are the ticket tiers and purchase deadlines:

(1) Featured Woman tickets - THESE TICKETS ARE ONLY FOR OUR 50 FEATURED WOMEN OF THE INAUGURAL ROUND. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE ONE OF THESE!

(2) Early Bird tickets - available now for you! Invite as many family & friends as you want. The early Bird rate ends on May 31.

(3) General Admission tickets - general admission tickets will be available from June 1-July 8th. Ticket sales will close on July 8th!

Tickets are first come first serve, and there is, of course, a limit on venue capacity, so please get your tickets now! In addition, the earlier we have an idea of the number of people attending, the better a celebration we can plan for you!

Raffle:

Also, we've already started a raffle for ticketholders. There will be multiple raffle prize opportunities leading up to the Gala. The more tickets you purchase, the more entries you will get, and the sooner you get your tickets, the more prizes you will be eligible for!

What to Wear:

You'll see in the invitation above that the dress code for this event is "Creative Black Tie." BUT, I do not want you to stress when it comes to formal wear. Hey, if you want to take this as an excuse to go shopping, then it is a great excuse! But if you want to pull from your existing closet, I'm confident that you will find something suitable, even if it's a business suit with a pop of color in the blouse. The great thing about CREATIVE black tie is that it isn't black tie :) You can break the rules! I've put together a pinterest board of sample attire for you here.
