On the phone, we brainstormed about creative ideas, themes, and props.  The possibilities included an archery bow and arrow, but because it’s illegal to take them out in public, the online dating photography would have to take place at an archery range.  E. is also a seamstress; she planned (and did) make her own dress (the red dress below) for the photography session, and we talked about possibly including her loom as a prop.  In the end, E. decided to keep her online dating photos simple, and we headed over to Rockville, Maryland’s beautifully peaceful Glenview Mansion.

One of E’s cousins joined us in looking at all of the online dating photos and helping E. decide which images to use.  (Enjoy the top picks below!)  After receiving the download link for the retouched online dating photos, E. wrote back:

And then, a few days later, I received this exciting e-mail from E.

“I posted my new dating profile online a week ago and since then I’ve been viewed more than 300 times and more than 50 guys have contacted me! I had to start a spreadsheet to keep track of everyone. This is much, much better than my previous profile and I’m feeling hopeful about dating again. A few people said that I looked like a model or should be in a movie – which of course is completely owing to your talented shots! This was a big investment for me and I don’t regret it.”
