“I am very interested in doing a boudoir photo shoot…  I want to do something special for my husband AND for myself, because last year, I had some surgeries and lost confidence... I wanted the best for my wedding, and the same here – I want the best boudoir photography… You look professional, which is always a big thing for me.”

That was our first conversation on the phone.   I got to know N. slowly, first during our telephone conversation, then at our pre-session planning meeting at our Germantown-Clarksburg boudoir studio in suburban Maryland, when we brainstormed about creative ideas and came up with a plan for N’s boudoir photography session.  We had only just received our new Bon à Vie album samples, and N. immediately fell in love with them.  On the day of the boudoir photo shoot, we started photographing in the bedroom.  “I already feel beautiful!” N. exclaimed over and over as she observed herself in the mirror.  The day after the session, I got this e-mail from N:

“I want to thank you for being so patient, understanding and helpful with me given my limitations, and something I am very self-conscious about, but I truly felt so beautiful, and maybe a little like this was more for me than for him. You made me feel so comfortable and you’re so easy going that it just made the whole thing a great experience.” 

Receiving that e-mail from N. sure did make me feel good.  It’s why I love being a boudoir photographer so much.  I get so much satisfaction in creating breathtakingly gorgeous images of women, who, though they started the process thinking this is a gift for their partner, feel empowered afterwards, realizing that their boudoir photography was just as much a gift for themselves.

Then, N’s boudoir photos came out so glamorous and sexy… whoa!  who’s that girl?!  On the date of the “photo reveal,” N. chose 45 of her favorite boudoir photos for a 20-page Bon à Vie storybook album for her husband’s birthday in August, then added a second, duplicate album for herself, since her husband is currently living overseas. Well, enjoy these drop dead gorgeously breathtaking images of N.  Some of her boudoir photos are so darn sexy that I’m saving them for in-person viewing only!
